Members Hannah and Jamie love being active. You could say that fitness brought these two together, since they met at their former gym. When they moved to Halifax, they joined the CGC and now can often be found in the Fitness Centre or on the Track; they're here so often, Jamie even claims they spend more time at the CGC then they do at home! Not only in it to stay active, both Hannah and Jamie have experienced how staying in good physical health has been really beneficial in their professions.

- What do you like about the CGC?
Hannah - "I love how bright the Fitness Centre is and the many options there are available to stay active."
Jamie - "I enjoy the large variety of options, whether it's in the Fitness Centre, the Track, or pool, it really makes it possible to customize each workout to best fit you."
- What motivates you to maintain an active lifestyle/why is fitness so important to you?
Hannah - " I truly love being active, it keeps me healthy mentally and physically. Also, being a Message Therapist, I'm constantly teaching my patients about the importance of movement and staying active."
Jamie - "I too just really love being physically active. I find continuously challenging myself to reach new fitness goals is really transferable outside of the gym. I also work on wind turbines, so being physically fit is a huge benefit in the trade."
- What do you like to do in your spare time?
Hannah - "Aside from working out, I love to spend my spare time with friends, cooking, or catching up on movies/TV shows. Or, in the warmer months, you can find me out for a run or a hike."
Jamie - "When I'm not at the gym, I spend time hanging out with friends, playing hockey, golfing or, when it's warm, hiking or having a drink on a patio downtown."
- What is your favourite workout routine/where in the CGC will we find you?
Hannah - "My favourite workout routine is definitely strength training legs; you can find me in the Fitness Centre or on the Track."
Jamie- "I would say chest or back. You can also find me in the Fitness Centre or Track."
- What is your favourite food or indulgence?
Hannah - "Salvatore's pizza or sushi."
Jamie - "Wings are always a go-to for me."
- What is your favourite post-workout snack?
Hannah & Jamie - "Avocado toast with eggs or peanut butter."
- What is your go-to workout song or what are you listening to right now?
Hannah - "I often just choose different playlists on Spotify, however, I've currently been listening to 'Middle Child' by J. Cole."
Jamie - "I listen to a lot of different stuff, but right now it would be 'Energy' by Big K.I.R.T."
- What is your favourite movie/ TV show?
Hannah - "Anything by Marvel, Game of Thrones."
Jamie - "Friday Night Lights."
- What is your current workout goal or accomplishment since starting at the CGC?
Hannah - "My workout goal has always been to increase overall strength and recently, to increase endurance."
Jamie - "To increase strength and to see how I can push my body in different ways."
- What was your first impression of the CGC?
Hannah - "I loved how bright and open the space is."
Jamie - "I loved all the options available in the Fitness Centre."
- What is your favorite memory of the CGC?
Hannah - "Anytime I've reached a new fitness goal and meeting some really great people."
Jamie - "All the people I've met and, of course, when I've hit a new fitness goal."
- What do you wish other people knew about the CGC?
Hannah & Jamie - "I wish people knew how welcoming the facility is and the wide variety of options there are to stay healthy and fit!"
