“As the head coach of this young team, I am very pleased with our outstanding results from this weekend’s event… I am very proud of each of our divers, coaches, parents, and aquatics staff for all of their dedication and loyalty to our club” said Amanda Layton-Malone, CGC Diving Club Head Coach. The Club is made up of members of all ages and skill levels and has been able to grow exponentially in the few years they have been active. In fact, the CGC Diving Club was able to produce the largest team from Nova Scotia at the aforementioned competition due to their impressive numbers, growth and talent.

One diver who competed for CGC at the Provincial competition and hoping to advance to the National stage is 11 year old Kayden Woodridge. Kayden has been diving for the past two-and-a-half years and has learned to love the sport. “It’s a really fun sport and it does give you a chance to go places, unlike a lot of other sports,” he said in an interview with Global News during the competition.

As the 2016 season progresses, so do the CGC divers. With an exceptional start, they look to focus their efforts towards posting even greater results in upcoming competitions. “The hard work and training will continue at our pool as we ready our team for the next event of the 2016 season,” said Head Coach Amanda.

Congratulations to our CGC Diving Club for an amazing start to the season!
